Nepal Trekking
FAQ

16 answers to the most common questions about trekking, permits, packages, and getting to Nepal.

Planning & Seasons

The two prime trekking seasons are October–November (post-monsoon) and March–April (pre-monsoon spring). Both offer clear skies, stable temperatures, and outstanding mountain views. October and November are the most popular: crisp air after the rains, peak visibility, lively trails. March and April bring rhododendron blooms on the Annapurna and Poon Hill routes. December–February is feasible for lower-altitude treks but cold at elevation. June–September is monsoon season — trails can be muddy and leeches are common below 2,500m, though landscapes are lush and crowds are minimal. Mustang is the only major region that remains excellent through the monsoon months due to its rain-shadow position.
