Mindful Mountain Travel
Yoga & Wellness Nepal
Nepal is a natural destination for wellness travel. The country that gave the world the concept of Himalayan contemplation has been drawing seekers, meditators, and people who just need to breathe for generations. Pokhara — the lakeside city below the Annapurna range — has the highest concentration of yoga studios and retreat centres in South Asia outside of Rishikesh. Combine a few days of guided practice with a gentle mountain trek and you will leave transformed.
Wellness Treks & Tours
What We Offer
Pokhara Yoga Base
Lakeside Pokhara has 30+ yoga studios offering Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and meditation. Most are a 5-minute walk from the lake and open to drop-ins or week-long retreats.
Retreat + Trek Combos
Our most popular wellness package: 3 days yoga in Pokhara + 5-day Poon Hill trek. Your practice deepens at altitude; the mountain walk clears everything else.
Buddhist Monastery Visits
The Langtang and Tamang Heritage routes pass active Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. Our guides arrange monk-led meditation sessions for interested guests.
Ayurvedic Spa
Post-trek Ayurvedic massage and Shirodhara treatments are available at partner wellness centres in Pokhara. We pre-book for arriving guests.
Meditation at Altitude
Sitting in silence at 3,000m+ with the Himalayas around you is an experience no urban studio can replicate. Guides can suggest quiet ridge spots for solo practice during trek rest days.
Sattvic Food Options
Most teahouses accommodate vegetarian and vegan diets. Dal bhat — the traditional lentil rice dish — is nutritionally complete and available three times daily on all routes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are there good yoga retreats in Nepal?+
Yes — Pokhara has one of the best concentrations of yoga and wellness centres in Asia. Popular retreats run 5–14 days and include daily Hatha or Vinyasa classes, pranayama, meditation, and vegetarian meals. Many lakeside centres offer stunning Annapurna-view practice spaces. We partner with established studios for retreat bookings and can combine a retreat with guided trekking.
Can I combine yoga with trekking in Nepal?+
Absolutely — and this combination is deeply popular. A typical wellness itinerary: arrive Kathmandu → 1–2 days cultural acclimatisation → fly to Pokhara → 3–5 days yoga retreat (lakeside) → 5-day gentle Poon Hill trek → return to Pokhara for post-trek massage → fly home. The contrast between studio practice and mountain walking creates a powerful reset.
What is the best trek for wellness-focused travellers?+
The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek (5 days, Easy) is ideal — gentle enough to be meditative rather than exhausting, with stunning rhododendron forests and an Annapurna sunrise. The Tamang Heritage Trek (7 days, Easy) passes through active Buddhist communities and offers monastery visits. The Langtang Valley Trek has a more remote, contemplative atmosphere.
Can I find vegetarian and vegan food on a Nepal trek?+
Nepal is excellent for vegetarian trekkers. Dal bhat (lentil soup, rice, vegetables, and pickles) is the national staple and available everywhere. Most teahouses also offer pasta, noodles, eggs, porridge, and vegetable curries. Vegan options are widely available. We flag dietary requirements to teahouse owners in advance so meals are ready on arrival.
Is Nepal good for meditation and spiritual travel?+
Nepal is one of the world's great spiritual travel destinations — the birthplace of the Buddha (Lumbini), active Tibetan Buddhist monasteries throughout the highlands, and Hindu temples of profound significance (Pashupatinath, Muktinath). Travelling with an open mindset through this landscape — especially at altitude — produces a natural contemplative shift that most guests describe as the most transformative travel experience of their lives.
