The ACAP permit costs NPR 3,000 (≈ US$22) per foreign trekker in 2026, and the TIMS card costs NPR 2,000 (≈ US$17) — about NPR 5,000 / US$40 total. The same two permits cover every Annapurna trek: ABC, Poon Hill, Mardi Himal and the Annapurna Circuit.
SAARC nationals: ACAP NPR 1,000. Children under 10: ACAP free. TIMS is NPR 1,000 for group/SAARC trekkers. Since April 2023 a licensed guide is also required. Fees are set in Nepali rupees; USD figures are approximate at ~NPR 133/US$. Reviewed June 2026 — we confirm live rates before you trek.

Nepal now requires trekkers in the Annapurna Conservation Area to be accompanied by a government-licensed guide, with permits issued through a registered agency — fully independent solo trekking is no longer permitted. How to get your permits — step by step
Book with a licensed agency (now required)
Since 2023 a licensed guide is mandatory in the Annapurna Conservation Area and permits are issued via a registered agency. Booking with Travel Himalaya Nepal includes both permits and your guide in one package price.
Visit the NTB or ACAP office in Pokhara
The Nepal Tourism Board office is on Damside Road near Phewa Lake; the ACAP office is also in Pokhara. Bring your original passport, a passport photo, and cash in Nepali rupees. Open ~10am–5pm Sunday to Friday.
Fill in the permit forms
Simple details — name, nationality, passport number, trek route and emergency contact. Both permits are usually issued the same day.
Carry both permits throughout the trek
There are several checkpoints on most Annapurna routes where you must show both. Never put them in checked luggage or the porter’s bag.
