Day-by-Day Itinerary(10 days)
Altitude Profile
Peak: 5,164 m · Day 7The 10-day Everest Base Camp Trek is our most time-efficient Khumbu itinerary — designed specifically for trekkers with proven high-altitude experience who need to reach EBC and return to Kathmandu within a tight 10-day window. The route is the classic Khumbu trail: Lukla, Phakding, Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorak Shep, Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), and Kala Patthar (5,545 m). The pace is fast; the altitude progression is near the maximum safe rate; and the margin for acclimatisation difficulties is minimal.
This itinerary has one acclimatisation day at Namche and reaches Dingboche on day 5 without a rest day. It suits trekkers who have been above 4,500 m within the past 12 months and whose bodies have demonstrated a reliable altitude response. We run this programme successfully — but we turn down bookings when the altitude history isn't there. The 10-day itinerary is not a shortcut for under-prepared trekkers; it is a time-efficient option for experienced high-altitude hikers.
All EBC inclusions apply: Lukla flights, Sagarmatha NP and Khumbu permits, senior guide, porter, teahouse accommodation, 3 meals per day, altitude kit.
10 Days vs 12 Days: The Honest Assessment
Ten days is the minimum responsible timeline for EBC with any prior altitude experience. Twelve days adds one rest day at Namche and one more comfortable stage above 4,000 m, improving completion rates from 79% to 87% based on our booking history. If your schedule can stretch to 12, it should. If 10 days is genuinely your maximum and you have prior altitude experience, the 10-day itinerary is viable with the right preparation.
Prior altitude experience: Required (4,500+ m within past 12 months). Best seasons: October–November and March–May. Max altitude: Kala Patthar 5,545 m.

Best Time to Go
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
Prime season. October is perfect — clear skies, stable weather, 4–6 week dry window. November gets cold at altitude but still excellent. EBC trail at its busiest.
Spring (Mar–May)
Climbing season — expeditions on Everest. Good trekking weather. Rhododendrons in Namche area. Pre-monsoon cloud builds in afternoon from May. Slightly warmer than autumn.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Very cold. Khumbu trails remain open but temperatures extreme at EBC (-20°C+). Experienced cold-weather trekkers only. Fewer crowds. Lodges may be closed above Namche.
Monsoon (Jun–Aug)
Not recommended. Trails wet and unstable. Cloud cover obscures mountain views. Risk of landslides on lower sections.
