Altitude Profile
Peak: 3,253 m · Day 5The 7-day Ruby Valley Trek is a compact version of the 8-day programme — covering the essential highlights of the Ganesh Himal foothills region (suspension bridge crossings, Tamang monastery villages, ruby-mining highland terrain, and Ganesh Himal views) in one fewer day by using a slightly faster approach pace. Appropriate for trekkers who have prior multi-day experience and want the Ruby Valley experience within a tight 7-day Nepal schedule.
The route visits the remote Tamang villages of Tipling and Lapa in the Arughat valley approaches, reaching the high ridge country near the ruby deposits with panoramic views of Ganesh Himal (7,422 m) and Shringi Himal. Ancient monasteries and prayer-wheel corridors line the trail at the upper stages. The return descends via a different valley route for full circuit variety.
Best seasons: October–November and March–May. Access: Kathmandu–Arughat 4WD jeep (included). Max altitude: ~3,800 m.
