Common Questions
Nepal Trekking Packages FAQ
What is included in a Nepal trekking package?
Most Nepal trekking packages include: airport transfers, accommodation throughout (tea house or hotel), all meals on the trek (breakfast + lunch + dinner), a licensed trekking guide, all required trekking permits (TIMS + ACAP/MCAP/SNPBZ depending on route), and a comprehensive pre-trek briefing. International flights, Nepal visa fees, travel insurance, and personal gear are typically excluded.
How much do Nepal trekking packages cost in 2026?
Nepal trekking packages range from around $280 for a 4-day Poon Hill trek to $3,800+ for a premium luxury Upper Mustang experience. The most popular routes — EBC (14 days) and Annapurna Circuit (14 days) — typically cost $980–$1,680 per person for a fully guided package. Budget trekkers can reduce costs by travelling in small groups, which reduces the per-person guide cost.
Can I customise a Nepal trekking package?
Yes — all our packages are fully customisable. You can extend or shorten any itinerary, add side trips (Gokyo, Kala Patthar, Tilicho Lake), upgrade accommodation from standard to deluxe tea house, add a helicopter return, or combine two regions. Contact us with your dates and we'll build a custom itinerary at no extra charge.
Which Nepal trekking package is best for beginners?
The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek (4–5 days) is the most popular choice for first-time trekkers — no high altitude, stunning views, and well-established tea houses throughout. The Langtang Valley Trek (7 days) is also excellent for beginners. For a slightly longer first trek, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek (11 days) is manageable for most reasonably fit adults.
Do Nepal trekking packages include a guide?
Yes — Nepal law now requires registered trekking guides on all major routes (since April 2023). Our packages include a government-licensed, English-speaking guide throughout. For peak climbing packages, a certified high-altitude climbing guide is also included. We never send clients unguided.
When is the best time to book a Nepal trekking package?
Book 3–6 months in advance for peak season (October–November and March–April) to secure your preferred dates and permit quota. We accept last-minute bookings 2–4 weeks out in the off-season (December–February, June–September), subject to guide availability. Permits can usually be arranged within 48 hours.
